Getting ready to go

We begin our 23 month mission to Panama for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints September 27, 2010. We just completed a two week tour visiting my brother and sisters as well as our children. We loved connecting with each person. All visits turned out even better than we had anticipated.

Ian posed in his new missionary suit after his farewell. He is in the Missionary Training Center studying Spanish for two months before leaving for Santiago, Chile. Rod's older brother, Ronald, also served there.

We came back in time for Rod to finish up his Boom Start Up activities. Now we just have to pack and keep studying like mad.

I suggested to Rod that we should start speaking only Spanish at least part of the time. He said he wouldn't be able to say much. I wondered how I would be able to tell the difference. He laughed, then reminded me that it is his role to tell the jokes.
